Indonesia is the largest coconut producing country in the world however logistics and cultural issues are primary obstacle. We at Saindo Bridge and Cure issues related to changing mind set of farmers not wanting to come out of traditional process, improving process that are do able at grass root, Quality vs Economic value Education , monitoring progress and building responsibility thru self inspection control reports and Implementation of Reward vs Performance to drive our supply to achieve both quality and quantity targets.

2.WHY HOLISTIC?

HOLISTIC is the only approach to sustainability , in order to be able to consistently receive the same results we need to care for the well being of our supply chain. The Holistic approach is the only means by which we can achieve quality and consistency. When the stomach is filled and the mind is calm it is more receptive to the next process, when they are unable to make ends meet they will be closed to any new approach. Holistic takes care of the 3 basic relationship (TRIHITA KARANA) that is the key in any agriculture based supply industry. Relationship of Man to God – The all providing source – it is important to involve the spiritual aspect and be grateful , Relationship of Man to Nature- The Medium that provides and the respect ,love and care given to the plants determine results , Relationship of Man to Man- This is where we support each other to share the results of the harvest so that in turn we are blessed by nature with more to come ,we hence become part of the ecosystem and the economic system. By practicing the above value system we continuously aspire to remain a “Holistic agro industry with integrity”.

3. “GIVE TO GET”

We believe that every industry, needs to partner their raw material chain to have a sustainable and consistent supply. We at Saindo apply the “GIVE TO GET” Ideology .Thru our holistic approach down stream. We help farmers increase their income by educating them in smart processing and added economic values. CSR is not separate but an integrated strategy to sustain our supply. We create CENTERS= central control warehouses to provide consistent, caring, stabile and long term security that enhances farmers acceptance to Saindo’s standard operational procedure. These CENTERS have proto processing units where farmers can learn and share added value processing and quality standards. We partner own farmer and call them MITRA UNIT or partner units and create plasmas or farmers groups. This builts their loyalty and lets them support each other. In this manner we GIVE them the means and the enviorment TO GET quality and sustainable supply.

4.Value added Agriculture.

Challenges faced in the supply chain management normally occurs when price drop in commodity that inevitably takes a cycle in any agriculture based product which is a part of the trade. Farmers are usually the last to understand since they are the first hit with the down turn in prices. How ever value additions gives a lesser impact due to superior quality and quantity , hence we at Saindo concentrates on upgrading process and giving farmers awareness of what value addition in to their agriculture system can do for them in the long run, better yields, better income resulting in a more satisfied supplier who is not clouded by distrust and always a view that they are at a consistent losing end. We initially take pains in entering their current supply system and slowly transforming them out by gaining their trust and giving them easy adaptive methods to upgrade current process in to better and smarter process with out moving too much out of their familiar culture at the same time achieving higher economic value for the value added product. Continuous tweaking and systematically supporting them with ways to increase productivity and awareness to value addition and slowly getting them addicted to strive only for better and best.
